The pallium | Pope Leo XIV | Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul

What is the pallium?

1️⃣ A white woolen band symbolizing communion with the Pope and pastoral authority.
2️⃣ It is placed at the tomb of St. Peter before being blessed, signifying apostolic succession.
3️⃣ It has been worn by metropolitan archbishops for over a millennium.
4️⃣ It is woven from lamb's wool blessed each year on the Feast of St. Agnes.
5️⃣ Nuns take care of the lambs and craft the pallia.
6️⃣ It symbolizes the Good Shepherd carrying Christ's flock, especially the lost and vulnerable.

The pallium is a powerful reminder that every bishop is called to shepherd God's people in communion with the Successor of Peter. Pray today for these 35 new metropolitan archbishops.

My vocation is Blessed and Saints.

"I am the most humble of all the Saints in Heaven" Mary, Mother of God."

"I am the handmaid of the Lord, said Mary ‘let what you have said be done to me."

Mother Mary is the most humble Saint in Heaven and she is also the Mother of God for us all
(Luke 1:38)
