Saint Paulinus of Nola

St. Paulinus of Nola was born into a wealthy Roman family in Bordeaux, Gaul, around 354 AD. A gifted scholar and successful statesman, he served as a Roman senator and governor before experiencing a profound conversion to Christ. Together with his wife, St. Therasia, he renounced wealth and worldly honors, dedicating his life to prayer, charity, and service to the poor. Ordained a priest and later chosen Bishop of Nola, he became renowned for his humility, generosity, and devotion to St. Felix. Through his writings, pastoral care, and witness of holy living, he inspired many to seek the treasures of heaven rather than the riches of earth. He died peacefully on 22 June 431, after a life wholly devoted to God.

St. Paulinus of Nola, pray for us to seek Christ above all earthly possessions and to serve Him faithfully in our neighbor.
