This reflection is drawn from Pope Francis’ encyclical Dilexit Nos, where devotion to the Sacred Heart is shown not as something passive, but as a loving response to the love of Christ. Reparation is not merely sorrow for sin; it is love returned for Love, seeking to console the Heart of Jesus and to let His grace restore what sin has wounded.
To make reparation to the Sacred Heart is to answer His love with love, and to let that love heal what is broken in us and in the world.
We have reason to be encouraged. The Bishops have already accepted the idea of the consecration in principle, and now the date is still to be decided. Even so, more signatures still matter. They add weight to the petition and show the depth of love, faith, and fervour for the Sacred Heart among the lay faithful.
