Pope Leo XIV has dispatched an initial emergency donation of 100,000 euros through the Apostolic Almoner's Office following devastating earthquakes in Venezuela that have killed at least 164 people. The earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, caused widespread destruction, with the coastal state of La Guaira being the worst affected. The President of Venezuela has declared a national state of disaster, while the Holy See has pledged further assistance as needs are identified on the ground.
