Sister Clare Crockett, an Irish nun who died in the 2016 Ecuador earthquake, is not yet officially recognized by the Catholic Church as having performed verified miracles for sainthood. However, following her death, countless people worldwide have reported experiencing spiritual graces and physical healings attributed to her intercession.
The Catholic Church officially named her a Servant of God in 2024, officially opening the first stage of the canonization process. As her cause advances, her legacy continues to grow through reported testimonies.
Commonly reported graces and purported miracles include:
Physical Healings: There are accounts of notable medical recoveries attributed to her prayers, including the case of a young boy who reportedly began to walk after his mother prayed for Sister Clare's intercession.
Spiritual Conversions: Postulators of her cause have received numerous reports of individuals finding hope in desperate situations, leaving behind destructive lifestyles, and returning to their faith.
Vocations: Many priests, nuns, and religious have credited Sister Clare’s life story—shared famously in the documentary All or Nothing—with helping them discover or strengthen their religious vocations.
What's Next in the Sainthood Process? For Sister Clare to be declared Venerable, the Church must formally recognize her "heroic virtues". Following that, for her to be beatified and eventually canonized, the Church requires rigorous medical and theological investigation to verify at least two scientifically unexplainable miracles obtained through her direct intercession.
