Peter’s Pence is the fund through which the faithful around the world make donations to the Pope to support his mission at the service of the universal Church. These resources allow for the funding of both the work of the dicasteries and bodies of the Holy See, as well as charity initiatives and aid to individuals and communities in situations of vulnerability. In 2025, Peter’s Pence recorded income of 57.6 million euros and expenses of 59.8 million, with a negative result of 2.2 million euros, which the Vatican attributed mainly to fluctuations in foreign exchange rates.
Donations amounted to 54.5 million euros, coming primarily from dioceses around the world, with the United States being the largest contributor. Of the total collected, 41.2 million euros were allocated to support the Pope's apostolic mission and 13.3 million funded 252 assistance projects in 74 countries, with special emphasis on evangelization, humanitarian aid, and the strengthening of local Churches. Among the initiatives supported are educational and social projects, aid to ecclesial communities in Africa and Asia, scholarships for priests and seminarians, and humanitarian assistance for the population of Ukraine.
