V. Pray for us, Blessed Father Francis:
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Antiphon: Hail, holy Father, light of the fatherland, form of the Minors, mirror of virtue, right path, rule of morals, lead us from exile to the kingdoms of the poles.
V. Francis, poor and humble, enters heaven rich.
R. He is honored with heavenly hymns.
Let us pray:
God, who on this day bestowed upon the soul of our blessed Father Francis the rewards of eternal bliss: mercifully grant; that we who celebrate the memory of his migration with pious affections may merit to reach happily the rewards of the same bliss. Through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Antiphon:
The brightness of the heavens shone, a new star flashed, holy Francis shone, to whom the Seraph appeared, sealing him with a wound: in flight, on the soles of the feet, on the side, while he wishes to bear the form of the cross in heart, mouth, and deed.
V. You have marked, O Lord, your servant Francis:
R. With signs of our redemption.
Let us pray:
Lord Jesus Christ, who, when the world grew cold, to inflame our hearts with the fire of your love, you renewed the sacred stigmata of your passion in the flesh of our most blessed Father Francis: mercifully grant that through his merits and prayers we may continually bear the cross and bring forth worthy fruits of penance. You live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
