Saint Carlo Acutis

St Carlo Acutis was born in London, England, on 3 May 1991 to Andrea Acutis and Antonia Salzano. Despite being born to wealthy but non-religious parents, he embraced his faith from a young age and made a point of praying before the Tabernacle before or after every Mass. He was a compassionate friend who sought to comfort those in need, defend the vulnerable, and serve the destitute. His life exemplified selflessness and dedication to others, which inspires us all. Carlo's passion for technology was also dedicated to sharing the Gospel and cataloging Eucharistic miracles around the world. Carlo, who was diagnosed with leukemia, dedicated his sufferings to God for the intentions of the Pope and the entire Church. However, his desire to visit as many sites of Eucharistic miracles as possible was cut short by his illness. Carlo passed away in 2006. Pope Francis beatified Carlo in 2020. Carlo's burial took place in Assisi at St. Mary Major's "Chapel of the Stripping," fulfilling his wish. It was at this very location where St. Francis had returned his clothes to his father, beginning his journey of following the Gospel in a more radical manner. His life reminds us that we can all use our talents and passions to make a difference in the world. Carlo Acutis did not strive to become famous but rather to cooperate as generously as possible with God's grace. That journey brought him many experiences, but they were all united by a burning desire to serve God and others as generously as possible. Carlo Acutis was canonised as a saint on 7 September 2025, alongside Pier Giorgio Frassati. Acutis has been referred to as the "patron saint of the Internet", "God's Influencer" and the "first millennial saint".

Prayer:

St Carlo Acutis, your heart burned with love for Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament. You found joy in surrendering to God’s will in every circumstance and witnessing His love, especially for the poor, the humble, and the forgotten. Pray that we, too, may discover the fountain of eternal life in the Eucharist, live the Gospel fearlessly, and embrace sufferings with a joyful heart, trusting in the Lord always. Amen.

Jonathan Fabian Ginunggil,
Most High Servant,
(Blessed and Saints and the Nine Choirs of Angels)
